School is over!

I think I am still in a state of shock. The school year had ended. Juss had his last day of pre-school, and the summer has really begun!

Next fall, Juss will be in Kindergarten…and, since we still don’t have our daughter…I will be at home during the day with no children! Hopefully, this will lead to more writing getting done!

Up to two weeks ago,  I was not looking forward to having the school year end. It seemed like a great relief when the kids went off in the morning…how was I going to handle it when that stopped happening?

Then I realized…I was about an hour and a half short of sleep every day (which is probably why I was so relieved when the kids went off. ;-) Now, I can sleep in a bit every morning, and I might actually be glad to see my kids in the morning!

So, next week we rest (except for the whole turning the house upsidedown again for the exterminators…arggh!!!!) Aftre that, let the Summer activities begin!

  1. Sean’s niece Sarah finished kindergarten this past Friday, and Sean’s nephew Cameron has just one more week of school before it finishes for the summer (he’ll be going into 5th grade next fall).

  3. First week with the three of them home

Steve’s duties at Huntington haven’t started yet, so he is kindly taking Ben to swim lessons in the morning, for which I am grateful. I warned him against taking them to McDonald’s the first day.

Long day yesterday, but finally I mastered the art of blueberry pie making, to at least my satisfaction. Husband seemed to like it as well. For Mother’s Day, the men of our church prepare an elaborate breakfast for the ladies and serve them at table. Yes, they clean up, too.

For Father’s Day, we make pies. Lots of pies. Men can have their choice of a pie.
