Overheard at the Wright’s Household

On the subject of Black and White movies and TV:

Orville: “I don’t mind black and white. It doesn’t bother me at all.”
Juss: “I don’t like black and white.”
John: “But what about Gilligan’s Island? The first season was in black and white. You liked that, right?”
Juss, sadly, “No, cause they left out the color.”

  1. I remember not liking movies in black and white. Then I started writing, and grew protective of the things I put out, and then realized that colorizing the movies would be a shame– they were filmed to be in black and white, not in color, and the style often reflects that.

Erm. I’ll… just stop my diatribe there. I’m known to get rabid about the subjects this will take me to.

    • I am the only person I know who likes colorized movies…why? Because they paid our bills. ;-) My dad distributed movies to TV, that was his business. TV stations bought colorized movies far more often than black and white.

That being said…yeah, I’d rather see ’em in black and white, too.
