Well, you know, this book would not have gotten written were it not for you. You, Catherine, and Evil Dave kept asking me about it during the years when I had put it aside. It was your interest that convinced me to take it out again.

That’s not me. ;-) That’s John’s favorite actress. When I had to pick an icon picture, I though it would be funny to pick one of the actress who John constantly posted pictures of on his blog. (I got my lj account originally just to post on his blog. ) But then John went on to his Space Princess project and hasn’t posted as many pictures of her. Her name is Aishwarya Rai. She’s a Bollywood actress who used to be Miss Universe, or something like that.
I did pick this particular picture because it looked something like younger me and a lot like my expression.
Unless you are one of the people who have seen the picture on John’s desk at work, in which case, I will say…yes, it’s lovely…but that was twenty-five years ago. I don’t look like that any more. ;-)
LOL! Yes, I remember John posting that girl’s picture a while back (I think the title was “because I’m a guy and, therefore, shallow…), so I knew that it was not you. That’s why I put the winking emoticon at the end of my sentence. If I could figure out how to make lj’s icon pic thingy work I’d have a better picture than just my cat up there.
Ah! Missed it, somehow. Made me happy, regardless.
One reason I didn’t pick up on it more quickly is that John has this picture of me on his desk at work that was taken by my dad many years ago. I think I’m wearing my highschool prom dress…which doesn’t look anything like what you might be picturing…all white and gauze and lace, homemade by mom. Anyway, he keeps coming home and telling me how people come by and complement the picture.
I’m wondering if I should use that one on my jacket cover. It would certainly be a lovely way to honor my dad’s effort. (And he REALLY put a lot of effort into that picture. I stood there for a looooong time!)
The only drawback is I don’t care for the picture that much myself, but…hey. ;-)
