NANOWRIMO Vs. Writing A Novel

The first time someone asked me if I was going to do NaNoWriMo, I replied, “Can’t. I have to write a novel.”

Now, this seemed rather silly. So I starting thinking, why not? Why not jump on the band wagon and join in the fun.

Today is why.

If my goal is to produce 50K words, then today would be spent banging away at the keys, pounding out more pages.

But my goal is to write a novel I can sell. So today has to be spent writing a handful of paragraphs that will transform what I already wrote from dumb to touching.

Still, the goal of doing as much as I can in Nov. is still inspiring me.
