It comes out officially in Sept, but some copies will be out July 16th.

John’s comment was really cool! I’m glad they used it!

It is a book of wonders, too. I’ve been thinking about it and I realize there are a lot of things I’m that good at as a writer, despite my best efforts…but I think I manage to strike a mood of wonder, at least some of the time!

    • No, that was something else…a message I had to answer between five and five thirty. It wasn’t important…just time sensitive.

I go this a few weeks back, but it wasn’t official, and my family hates it. Orville thinks the girl is dead and won’t look at the cover. It’s quite cheering to see that people here like it.

It was great to see you guys, and while I think Ben missed the loud boys when they left, I was happy that Ro got a chance to go outside with him. He seemed happy afterwards. Hope your dinner went well!

      • It was good. The kids were well-behaved. I think Autumn ate 2 lbs of Sashimi. She declared she was full and then devoured a large serving of strawberry shortcake.
O, to be 17 and under 100 lbs. But I don’t know where she puts it.

  2. Cover art

I hate to admit that I don’t like it either. I think your writing style is so much more vivid that the art that your cover tells nothing of the story save the main characters hair color. It lacks any elements of Mephisto’s light-heartedness, Miranda’s devotion and determination, or mab’s film noir themes. There’s no movement in the cover of your investigative quest novel.

I am glad that I seem to be in the minority, though. I hope that you are pleased and that buyers are intrigued.

Not to beat a dead horse, but they might consider making a new cover for the paperback that has Miranda in her white fedora and flute doing the Harry Dresden thing with Mab…

  4. Isn’t it sort of… cheating, or something, to have the quote on your book be from your husband? ;) I mean, he is a biased source. Or, if he isn’t, he ought to be. :)

  9. Well…we sent them nine or ten quotes and that’s the one they liked best. ;-)

Of course, most people won’t know that he’s my husband…until they read the back cover jacket, at least.
