Just finished MASTER OF HEATHCREST HALL

Absolutely delightful!

This is the final book in the series that starts with THE MAGICIANS AND MRS. QUENT and includes THE HOUSE ON DURROW STREET. The story takes place in Altaria, an alternate Britain from a world where day and night are not of the same length. The story is in part Regency Manner with magic, Gothic, reveolutionary story, and Lovecraftian. The author handles each separate mood masterfully.

It is primarily intrigue and mystery. The romance angle is very, very light.

Strongly recommend it to those who wish their Jane Austin had more Lovecraft in it.
